What is an asbestos survey?
Once a popular and versatile material in the building and construction industry, asbestos has been banned for use since the 1990s when it was discovered to be intrinsically linked to a series of debilitating health conditions and issues. Most dangerous when it is broken up and particles of the material are loose in the air, an asbestos survey works to identify the presence of asbestos and understand its state and conditions – including whether the material is contained, and whether it is stable or damaged.
There are two types of asbestos survey that we offer in Basildon, the first being a straight survey for property owners and buyers, and the second including an asbestos removal service which ensures that a building can be made ready for renovation work.
Asbestos Management Survey – this first survey sees our team enter the property and ascertain the condition of any asbestos which may be present. We can then provide you with a full report and a management plan, which may involve removal or follow up surveys on a frequent basis.
Asbestos Refurbishment or Demolition Survey – if you are looking at completing any work on a building, be it an extension or renovation work, you will need a survey to remove any asbestos present from the site.
