While the first type of survey is called a management survey and can end with a variety of options based on your living situation and how the asbestos is contained within the property, the second type of survey can only be conducted on a vacant property due to the hazard of breaking asbestos up and removing it. The latter survey is also a requirement of any demolition or refurbishment work taking place on a property or building which was built prior to 2000.
